Channel Agent for Teams
What is this new feature?
Microsoft is currently working on a channel agent that will support us in teamwork on projects.
What can the agent do?
He can create status reports, send emails, schedule meetings, co-author documents, and answer questions.
It understands the context of meetings, chats, and files and uses this knowledge to support us in our work. It saves time, reduces manual effort, and makes collaboration smarter.
How the agent works
I could well imagine that this feature could help us in many ways to simplify certain processes in the project.
In my opinion, it will be structured similarly to Copilot or perhaps even based on Copilot.
I am definitely very excited to see how it will turn out.
When will the agent appear?
This feature is currently still in development and is scheduled to be rolled out in September 2026.
However, it will be January 2027 or later before everyone can use the feature.
